My Halloween Nails

Bloody Nails

Happy Halloween! This is probably my favourite time of the year as you have the chance to dress up and experiment with makeup and face paints, what’s not to love about that?! Then putting decorations up in your home and making it all scary, and staying up late watching scary movies with the sweeties you were meant to hand out to the’ trick or treaters’, it’s just spooktacular! So in celebration of today, I decided to do a nail blog (as my natural nails have grown so long, so proud of them!) but using Halloween blood spatter as inspiration (which also goes with my Halloween costume)

What you will need:
  •       White nail varnish – I’m using Barry M – Matt White
  •         Red Nail Varnish – I’m using No7 Stay Perfect – Ruby Charm
  •             Tissues
  •             A straw
  •             A piece of paper

1.      First of all start with clean nails and apply a clear base-coat, this step can be missed out but it just ensures to protect your nails from being dyed from the polish. Once it dries then apply 2 coats of white nail polish just so the colour will be vibrant and wont chip as easily.

2.      After that has dried get the piece of paper and using the end of the red nail polish brush, drop some red polish onto the paper to create almost a wee puddle. Watch and don’t spill! There has to be a decent sized amount for this next part to work.

3.       Get your tissue and rip out a piece the size of your nail at the end. This is just to protect your skin from becoming covered in nail polish and to keep it tidy. Once ripped, place it over your finger like shown in the photo below.

4.      Finally get your straw and dip it in the puddle of red polish you made. Make sure there is a fair amount on the end of the straw or it won’t work. Then just blow through the straw onto your nails!
It’s as simple as that! Then just repeat these steps for all other nails. Remember, the messier the better!
Once all nails are dried and finished, go over them with clear nail polish to add protection against them chipping!

And the finished result... TA DAAAAH!!

To break up my nails a bit as you can see, I drew on a red cross just to fit in a bit more with my zombie nurse costume...

Enjoy!

We're going through changes...

Well it's safe to say it is finally Autumn. At this time of year all i seem to want to do is snuggle up in some cozy jammies, spend my days baking or lay in bed ALL day (probably pigging out on chocolate) . I've never really liked Autumn as a season, it seems to be forever raining, cold and gale force winds and the thought of having to leave my bed to enter this horrific weather and have my hair smacking around my face, well that just doesn't appeal to me at all.

However this year i'm having a little change of heart...

I've realised that this season is the chance for a little change. Not only change for yourself, but for the world to transition into something else and it doesn't have to be scary, you can go where the wind takes you!
I'm old fashioned, i stick to what i know and to be honest change scares me. But since October began, i decided i was going to experiment a little more and become not such a scaredy cat when it comes down to things. To start with i started writing this blog. I've even expanded on the foods i eat and changed my regular meals in restaurants (applause) which is a big thing for me (i'm such a bore when it comes down to food). I should also be moved into a new house with my mum by the end of this month so that's one more change i'l have to get used to... If all goes to plan that is and we hurry up and decorate! I'm also considering taking up a hobby again, so that i actually do something useful with my time, other than laze around and day dream about being Mrs Sheldon Cooper. (yes i know he is in his forties and is gay, but hey, a girl can dream!)

hello everyone!

So i've been told to start a blog as part of my college course and to be honest i have no clue what to do or write (this is new and uncomfortable and i'm not sure i like it).

So here we go... well to start with, my name is Hayley Milne and i'm 18. Lived in Aberdeen my whole life and only went on holiday for the first time last year (i know its shocking) to Turkey, wish id never came home!

I've got an obsession with Disney, from the old classics such as The Lion King, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast to the new movies like Tangled, Up and Brave. They're just so brilliant. And like every normal girl i'm STILL waiting for my Prince Charming, the man of my dreams, to come and sweep me off my feet... (fingers crossed it actually happens). I also have a love for shoes, bags and well just clothes in general! I cook and bake ALL the time, it's actually such a stress reliever and thankfully there have been no complaints or people getting food poisoning (yet...)

Out of this blog i would say you should expect some fashion and beauty, baking (and maybe the odd recipe if your feeling brave enough to try it for yourself). Also expect a lot of random blogs as i just 'empty my head' and have a good rant!
