My Halloween Nails

Bloody Nails

Happy Halloween! This is probably my favourite time of the year as you have the chance to dress up and experiment with makeup and face paints, what’s not to love about that?! Then putting decorations up in your home and making it all scary, and staying up late watching scary movies with the sweeties you were meant to hand out to the’ trick or treaters’, it’s just spooktacular! So in celebration of today, I decided to do a nail blog (as my natural nails have grown so long, so proud of them!) but using Halloween blood spatter as inspiration (which also goes with my Halloween costume)

What you will need:
  •       White nail varnish – I’m using Barry M – Matt White
  •         Red Nail Varnish – I’m using No7 Stay Perfect – Ruby Charm
  •             Tissues
  •             A straw
  •             A piece of paper

1.      First of all start with clean nails and apply a clear base-coat, this step can be missed out but it just ensures to protect your nails from being dyed from the polish. Once it dries then apply 2 coats of white nail polish just so the colour will be vibrant and wont chip as easily.

2.      After that has dried get the piece of paper and using the end of the red nail polish brush, drop some red polish onto the paper to create almost a wee puddle. Watch and don’t spill! There has to be a decent sized amount for this next part to work.

3.       Get your tissue and rip out a piece the size of your nail at the end. This is just to protect your skin from becoming covered in nail polish and to keep it tidy. Once ripped, place it over your finger like shown in the photo below.

4.      Finally get your straw and dip it in the puddle of red polish you made. Make sure there is a fair amount on the end of the straw or it won’t work. Then just blow through the straw onto your nails!
It’s as simple as that! Then just repeat these steps for all other nails. Remember, the messier the better!
Once all nails are dried and finished, go over them with clear nail polish to add protection against them chipping!

And the finished result... TA DAAAAH!!

To break up my nails a bit as you can see, I drew on a red cross just to fit in a bit more with my zombie nurse costume...

Enjoy!
